"Perhaps I'm old and tired, but I always think that the chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied." -Douglas Adams

Hi all from Schaumburg Illinois! (near Chicago)

Yesterday I drove up by myself and didn’t to run anyone off the road (I’m sure my mom is proud). I ended up with the Jeep since 5 kids don’t fit in the Jeep… It wasn’t too bad packing-wise, I even managed to shove my carpet in there. Although if Sarah would like a ride home (I picked her up from the airport last night), she has to sell most everything since the front seat is where I had all my items stashed.

(I’m realizing that so far this is a bit of a convoluted post but I’m fighting a serious head cold and haven’t slept more than 6 hours for a week. I’m kinda lucky I remember my name at the moment. I hoping a trip to Starbucks within the hour helps. Or I may start calling myself Sally. Except I have a name tag that says “Katie” so I might be okay.)

So Stitches for any of you who don’t know, is a big knitting/yarn/crochet convention with classes and a fashion show and author book signings and a market place. The market is where I come in. There are thousands of knitters who attend this 4 day event so it’s a good venue for me and my little business. And it’s fun hanging out with a lot of people who understand being excited about sock yarn and pointy sticks.

Last night was “Market Preview” for anyone taking classes, it wasn’t open to the general public. And I’m a bit scared to say it was a lot slower than last year. I did have some sales but I’d like the rest of the weekend to go much better. Mostly because I have this big ugly college tuition bill due…

Oh and I’ll have a picture of the booth up something later. I had to leave my camera at home but Sarah brought hers. And there will be pictures of sock yarn. Cause I’ve made enough already to at least buy some of that.

  1. I guess Sarah will havew to hold the sock yarn on the drive home eh?

I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of the two of you in the booth selling your wares.

Btw, here are birthday wishes for Kyle through you. :)
