I really wanted to wait until September to unveil this new site but I’m impatient. That’s kinda the story of my life though.
A little explaining…
The title is homage to one of my most favorite albums ever, “August and Everything After” by the Counting Crows. It’s named such because the lead singer was born in August. Since I was born in September, this fits better.
The quote is by Douglas Adams (author of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy): “Perhaps I’m old and tired, but I always think that the chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied.” Yeah I’m not exactly old (although often tired) but I think it kinda fits my outlook on life. Are we ever really going to find the meaning of life, the universe, and everything? (42!) No. So I think we should just do the best we can with the cards we are dealt and have a little fun along the way.
New website? It’s a long, long, long story. I may write a book about it someday (I’ve been told it would make a good Lifetime Movie). There have been big changes in my life so that “Ramblings of a SAHM” just doesn’t fit anymore. I’ll go into some of them as time goes on. And after 5 1/2 years blogging there, I’m ready for a fresh start too.
Oh and if things are wonky here for awhile, I’ll fix them as I can. I probably won’t build a huge site around this blog again but it feels good to be writing again at least.

hi Katie,
thought I’d post a comment, cause i had the same idea with my blog (septemberandeverythingafter.blogspot.com)…I actually became a member in 2007, but haven’t added to that blog (my public one), so I’m (trying!) to hold off until September to do so. funny that we both alluded to the counting crows album and used the same month!
