"Perhaps I'm old and tired, but I always think that the chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied." -Douglas Adams

Whew! I spent around $100 on the whole mess but my mom and dad purchased all of the crayola products and markers which was probably another $30 (thank you!). The only thing missing is a “clean, old sock.” Okay, I’ve been doing this school supply list thing for a few years now and one grade always wants a “clean, old sock.” And no one has ever been able to tell me why. I think it’s a test. They want to see which parents are gullible enough to follow the rules and send in a “clean, old sock” and which parents look at the list, laugh, ignore that item, and buy everything else.

My only question is do they want adult size, kid size, white athletic, black dress, or striped hand knit?

  1. The clean, old sock at my school is for the small whiteboards that the kids use at their desks for math problems. Dry erase markers are provided, but the kids need something to clean the board with…

  2. No one has ever asked me for a sock, if I were you, I’d have to find out why in the hell they’d want it.

  3. I’ll let you know if they ever ask for a sock here. So far I haven’t seen it on any of our lists…

    That’s quite a haul, btw!

  4. I say you send in an old Christmas stocking instead of the clean, old sock. But, then, that’s just me.
